Eating Out in Coventry
blue bar
For its size Coventry is not too well endowed with good eating places. There are however some hidden secrets if you know where to look. The CWN hungry reviewers have spent many long lunchtimes and evenings scouring the city. They can now through these web pages offer you the full girth of their experience to pinpoint their top tips for the best places to eat in Coventry.

Every eating place will get its own listing, but we will be flagging up on this page some of our current favourites. We'll be reviewing this selection continuously as we try new places - watch out we may be visiting a restaurant near you soon!

If you want a filling lunchtime bite on a small budget try somewhere like Mr Giles in the Burges - excellent batches from the oldest restaurant in Coventry. For a more genteel experience Bunty's in Hay Lane near the Cathedral is well worth a visit - a traditional tea shop with very friendly staff.

If you are looking for a fuller meal, lunchtime or evening, two restaurants well worth trying are Etna Ristorante, a delightful Italian venue in the city centre, and Bentley's Restaurant in the De Vere Hotel near the bus station. Bentley's is probably the most expensive restaurant in the city but well worth a try. It is also one of the very few non-smoking places.

If you fancy somewhere different why not try the new 153 restaurant at the Hylands Hotel. Again quite expensive but a new experience for eating in Coventry. For food purists a short ride to the east of the city will take you to Ryton Gardens where you can find the area's only organic restaurant.

Coventry is a strongly multicultural city and this is reflected in large number of Indian restaurants particularly. Visit Foleshill Road to find a good selection.
