"Good service but room for improvement on details"

We had our dad's funeral organised by Antony at Pargetters. Impressed that they answered the phone on a Friday night at 10:30pm. First meeting was good, he acknowledged all our requests and provided a written quote.

Following on from this we confirmed the date, flowers, music and provided the green certificate from the registrars. We also agreed dates and times for visiting my dad in the funeral parlour.

The quote for horse drawn carriage was increased by 14% from the original quote due to the alternative suppliers having to be used and this had to be paid upfront.

We also paid the crematorium directly for the cost of the cremation.

Pargetters were helpful in allowing family to see my dad multiple times once he was in their care and supported us in all our religious and cultural ceremonies during this time.

On the day the horse and carriage and the hearse arrived on time at the house and the Pargetter's staff were generally helpful in managing the wider family and friends whilst bringing by dad into the house and then helping to bring him out again into the carriage.

We were disappointed to see the GRANDAD floral tribute was white and not multicoloured as we had agreed with Antony. This was disappointing as we had told the grandchildren what the floral tribute would look like and they were meant to stand out from the white DAD floral tribute. I tried to correspond with Pargetters on on this matter but they did not acknowledge their mistake.

Pargetters also told us that the charging part of the service at the crematorium could be viewed by up to 6 people, however, on the day we were told that only a maximum of 4 people were allowed in, we had to make a quick decision on those family members to refuse access.

After the service at the crematorium the car took the family members to the temple and this was where Pargetters contribution to our dad's funeral day ended..
