A review of The Co-operative Funeralcare by Pamela Eyden written on Tuesday 21st of January 2014
We went to The Co-operative Funeral Place in Coventry (Lower Holyhead Road) because of the name - everyone knows the Co-op - and we were treated with the utmost respect by Jenny Smyth (I found this review facility when I was looking to contact her about headstones). Absolutely no pressure selling - we decided on a Humanist funeral for our mum as she wasn't a great believer - and Jenny handled us beautifully. She somehow 'reads' the level of your emotions and advised us and recommended 'products' which were appropriate to our situation. I must also mention Alan, who conducted my mums' funeral. What a lovely man, and the same level of respect and regard came from him too. He summarised the information we gave to him about our mum and channelled it into an 'affectionate', Humanist address - as though he'd known her. At these sort of times we all need this level of consideration and practical help and our family will be ever grateful to the Co-op. So much so, we gave a donation to a charity of Jenny & Alan's choosing as we couldn't think of a better way to show our heartfelt thanks. From the first moment to the last, and from every single person at the Co-op, we were shown nothing but kindness (and a lovely cup of coffee) and care. Thanks you guys. From the family of Irene Stanley (1922-2013).
